We believe that returning to the countryside is not about going backwards, but about remembering who we are and from where we can build a truly sustainable future.
Our project was born to reconcile people with life in the countryside and to resignify it as a space of abundance, dignity and future, not poverty. For decades we were taught that development was only possible far from the earth; today we know that this narrative has generated profound social, environmental and cultural imbalances. We seek to unlearn the idea of the countryside as backwardness and sow a new rural consciousness based on autonomy, health, prosperity and care for life. We believe that an alternative rural development is possible, capable of simultaneously strengthening the environmental, economic, social and cultural systems of the territories in Colombia.
Through eco-literacy, we promote a conscious relationship with the land to avoid reproducing the extractive and chaotic dynamics of the city in the rural area. At the same time we reconnect people with ancestral knowledge and a sense of belonging to the territory, especially in rural communities and associations. Our purpose is to train sovereign, autonomous and networked people, capable of building abundant life projects in the countryside, regenerating the land and thinking about the next generations. Because we believe that returning to the countryside is not about going backwards, but about remembering who we are and from where we can build a truly sustainable future.
The project consists of developing two prototypes, with the aim of strengthening the Vamos Pal Campo School:
- Make a staggered prototype for one of our virtual products that has given us more results: “VamosPalBosque” initiation to Syntropic Agriculture. This staggered prototype aims to train between 50 and 70 people in Syntropic Agriculture, and to create a learning community. We are currently finalising this training project, delivering the classes with 20 new students. It will culminate by the end of January 2026 with a special practice workshop in our ecovillage project.
- Set up a non-profit legal entity building up a work team that designs and implements Syntropic Agroforestry solutions , in order to strengthen the value chains of peasant, indigenous and afro associations that wish to improve their local capacities in the management of resources using this approach. We should continue working on this until April 2026.
What is emerging now?
The future of Vamos Pal Campo will first see the completion of ongoing projects. Providing a window to new realities and the opportunity to learn how to manage resources is essential in our socio-environmental niche, offering communities a more predictable and high-impact strategy for capturing resources.
Although the infoproducts business model did not work out as we had hoped this time, we have a team of people who believe in our purpose and are dedicated to their work. However, we recognise that we still need mentoring and a strategy to achieve a monthly cash flow as a company. It is possible that more time will be allocated next year to establish a ‘project factory’ with the internal team. In other words, we will apply to between one and five calls per month. In this niche, this type of strategy is a more feasible and realistic business model for carrying out our mission of expanding sustainable agriculture in Colombia. This is particularly relevant for independent producers and established peasant associations.
Even so, we will also undergo info-product mentoring for five months in order to commit to this model for another year. We will focus 100% on calls or working with the state. In terms of alliances, we have managed to raise our profile and secure two people to offer advice on their farms in Colombia.
During the launch of our “Vamos Pal Bosque” training project, I really enjoyed the excitement of knowing that we could reach over 500 people at once, showing them an alternative to modern, polluting mass production systems. It was also very enjoyable to create entertaining and educational audiovisual content for the community of new students. We really enjoyed sharing knowledge with the members of the associations in a very enriching way as part of the project to design and implement systems. Working alongside them is rewarding.
