becoming
The process of coming to be something or of passing into a state.
[Oxford English Dictionary]
Monster
A zone of encounter between neurotypical modes of sensing the world and a ‘world’ – errant, fugitive, and excessive – that spills beyond our languages, our grammars of the body, and our practices of representation.

WELCOME TO THE THRESHOLD
The Becoming Monster Festival is animated by a longing to come together and explore how we might be with and make sanctuary with monsters – to think along with the monstrous, to think along with the edges, to map out new realities.
This festival, taking place from October 30th – November 3rd, is a space held for grieving the losses that come with living into the end-times, at the same time that we are enlivened by the idea of fabulating, imagining and playing with the question of what else we humans might become in the crumbling, entangled, living, animist world(s) we inhabit. The event will feature virtual, hybrid and translocal in-person components hosted by ten and a strange ecology of friends and partners (non-human and human alike) from around the planet.
