Re-imagining Education Conference 5.0 – February 26 – March 1st 2026! Cycles of Change

SAVE THE DATE: February 26th - March 1st

For five years, the Re-imagining Education Conference (REC) has become a living laboratory for educational transformation, bringing together educators, communities, researchers, artists, and learning spaces from across the world.

This year, we are convening again with the extraordinary Re-imagining Education Conference 5.0 happening on February 26th – March 1st. We are super energized for this new opportunity to co-create and play together as a rich imaginative super-ecosystem!

How can we reimagine education with the cycles of change?

The REC carries a fundamental question of: Why reimagine education? we feel-think that how we learn changes how we live.  The conference is a space where reimagining is understood as a living cycle — rich with ups and downs, twists and turns, and journeys inward and outward. During the four days of REC 5.0 we will dance and harmonize with the seasons and cycles of change, the energies and forces of transformation, the rythmns and movements of the waters, answering our call for becoming and learning with the Earth.

More than 100 contributors and practitioners join us during this emergent research experiment and critical pedagogy space to co-create, share and unravel their own experiences, perspectives and practices around learning and journeying with Life. We aim to co-create and learn together, co-weaving ecologies, challenges, dreamings, and opportunities for mutual flourishing.

Who is this for

This gathering welcomes casual learners, pedagogues, unschooled professionals, pleasure activists, academics, Earth tenders, grandmothers, researchers, and tricksters. Everyone re-imagining education within and beyond academia.

Through the conference, our hope is to make space for questions. Here are some that we bring:

  • How can education learn from natural cycles of change — especially from water — to transform how we live and learn?
  • What is changing now in our education systems, and how can we embrace and shape that change together?
  • How can we move beyond the “school-factory” model and regenerate learning for life, not for the economy?

The conference is an invitation to make connections and deepen relationships with a wide range of individuals, organizations, networks, and social movements dedicated to the transformation of education, beyond institutions, as a critical step in building a world in service to life. This year we have an incredible mix of interactive workshops, panels, facilitated discussions, open spaces,  embodiment, butterfly-talks, action-driven round tables, and collaboration labs including:

  • Collective Dreaming
  • Youth Perspectives on Decolonial Learning/Indigenizing Learnings
  • Reweaving Cultures of Connection and Repair
  • Transforming, Decolonising or Abandoning Mainstream Education?
  • Playing with Conflict
  • Indigenous Worldview Precepts to Restore Balance on Planet Earth
  • Queer Theory, Pedagogy and Mental Health
  • Regenerative Leadership, Care & Community
  • Redesigning Universities
  • and many more…

We invite you to bring your whole self — your questions, joys, griefs, and wisdom in this conference, which serves as a transdisciplinary bridge to honor what we have created together over the past five years. May our conversations and shared moments become fertile ground for new life, new ideas, and new movements to flourish.
