Habib was conceived as a preeminent institute for higher education, guided by Yoshin philosophy. Yohsin encompasses five major paradigms: striving for Excellence; appreciating Aesthetics (beauty); nurturing Passion; Respecting others; and Serving the communities in which we reside. A multidimensional concept, Yohsin incorporates a worldview where the worth of a person is measured not just in terms of the depth of their technical knowledge or skills, but by their interaction with nature and society at large. This entails living responsibly and aiming to positively impact the community and the world. The mission of the university is threefold. First, Habib University aims to to educate promising students from all backgrounds, thereby enabling them to become competent, caring and critically-conscious members of society. Second in the university’s mission is to engage outstanding academics with a passion for teaching to work with our students and enrich their minds and lives, helping them contribute positively to the larger community. Thirdly, the university strives to promote creativity, academic freedom, and the exchange of ideas in an intellectually-stimulating environment characterized by mutual respect and collaboration.
